The Kick-Ass Bot

Tour of Duty <<- ->> Day of Defeat

"He sees the shadow first: ten meters of sharp angles, thorns, blades...
legs like steel pipes with a rosette ofscimitar blades at the knees and ankles. Then, through the pulse of hot light and black shadow, Hoyt sees the eyes.
A hundred facets, a thousand...glowing red, a laser shone through
twin rupies, above the collar of steel thorns and the quick silver chest
reflecting flame and shadow..."                                            (The Shrike)

Limits.cfg

Limits.cfg Commands   << Prev | Next >>

The purpose for these files is controlling what class bots are spawned when using the min/max bots and fill_serv commands. The limits.cfg file is located in the \shrikebot\config\ folder. i.e. The full path would be::

C:\steam\steamapps\email@address.com\day of defeat\dod\shrikebot\config\limits.cfg

You can edit the cfg file with notepad or any other text editor you might have. (Even ms-word, if you save the file as plain text.)

limits.cfg has the option to make it map specific. if you make a limits file called dod_caen_limits.cfg in the config folder the it gets loaded when caen start and not on any other map. You can make a specific limits.cfg for every map you like. (the release installs specific limits files for most if not all default dod1.3 maps)

The bot looks for a specific limits file in the config folder first if it is not found for that map then it will use the common limits.cfg file in the config folder. If that also is not found then it will use fail save values. An example follows below for dod_caen.

"dod_caen_limits.cfg"
----------------------------------
mp_limitbritlight 16
mp_limitbritassault 2
mp_limitbritsniper 2
mp_limitbritmg 2
mp_limitbritpiat 0

mp_limitaxiskar 16
mp_limitaxisk43 16
mp_limitaxismp40 1
mp_limitaxismp44 1
mp_limitaxisscopedkar 1
mp_limitaxismg34 1
mp_limitaxismg42 1
mp_limitaxispschrek 0
----------------------------------

The limit values may not exceed the game class limits.
If you want no limit on a class then set it to 16 and if you want to disable a class for the bots then set it to 0. When you make a limits file make sure it uses the right classes if you use wrong classes and or values the game could crash. in doubt don't make a file but let the bot use the common file.

The following commands are supported in the limits.cfg file:
